The Lazy days had begun! And none too soon! The first part of our trip had me exhausted.....and I was ready for some 'down time.
A typical day went like this....
We usually slept in to our hearts content, and then some...... Chuy was ALWAYS the first up, and usually in the kitchen chatting with his mom, as she prepared breakfast, homemade fresh squeezed juice of some kind...every day differed....and all this being done within earshot of where we slept, yet, they were always so quiet that we never heard them! Carmen always talks in a hushed whisper..... Chuy says she has always been that way...... probably an Indian trait. Its nice, but, I used to mistake it for her being mad or something...Chuy says NO about that. She is just soft spoken. Julie is usually the first to throw out an idea for the day. So, about 10:00 after breakfast, and ambling around the house a bit... we take off for the day to do something or others. Today, it was Acapulco beach in the daytime.
This was interesting, as no sooner did we get there, kinda settle in, and here comes a vendor trying to sell a bracelet he makes on the spot. Chuy bellows out a friendly "PISA!!" Greeting, and the vendor smiles big, and comes over to us. Chuy knows this guy from Los Algodones! What a small world............ so, of course we had to have a bracelet made.... and he did really well at it. Julie was happy, and so went the day.
In between suntanning, playing with local kids, and telling beach vendors NO NO NO and NOOOOO and then buying some stuff .......... the sun started to set.
Wencho, another great friend of Chuys, who owns the beach side Robinson Crusoe Bungalow and mini restaurant invited us over...and we chatted and enjoyed the rest of the evening until time to go home............ yes, we had become officially, LAZY! And, after the last year of stress in all of our lives, I do not feel ONE BIT ASHAMED EITHER!!!!! It was wonderful! We seemed to have many days like this, and I wont bore you with Blog Post after Blog Post of swimming and suntanning days. But, just this once..... 'Acapulco in the day, on the beach, meeting long lost friends and visiting friends of long ago!
ps) If you go to Acapulco, look up Wencho and tell him Chuy sent you!
You can also stay in those bungalows for only $20.00 a night, and you are RIGHT ON THE BEACH. It is safe, and guarded with security that have guns, but stay discreetly out of view.
Its very pretty!
We told Wencho we would put him on the internet, and make him famous....so here it is Wencho..your on the internet...(SMILE!) Getting famous is your part!
"PISA"!
Friend from Los Algodones.
Little beach vendor that Julie wants to steal....we had great fun with that one!
The two rapscallions.......... probably plotting something, or thinking of another adventure......or whatever? Ya never know what will happen when two great minds get together!!!!
Another beach vendor......
The owner of the Robinson
Crusoe bungalows and beach cafe.....
nice guy!
Old friend of Chuys from days gone by......
See, I told you, they are plotting something!
Second in command, 'Mosso to the rescue, and me, just a leg will be trailing along with whatever they are planning and plotting......
Chuy happy about something? If you look in the background, you can see Wencho under one of his table umbrellas......
Another day in paradise.......
Checking out Wenchos Bungalows and restaurant before we head for home...it was very rustic, and cozy, and just what you would expect from a tropical setting....... I much prefer this to the high rise hotels that litter the beach and surrounding cliffs.
This is much more authentic and how many locals really do live further up the coast of Mexico.
