Jardin Azteca..... Chuys Childhood hunting ground..... where he grew up and spent most of his childhood years. What a life....geeeze..........

Chuys sister that lives nearby, further up on the mountain, sent down this "hat" for Julie and a similar one for me.... seems that she was worried that we would get too much sun. Obviously she doesn't know how a "Sun deprived" person acts when they get around some real sunshine.... well, I know for one thing, you want as much sun on you as possible.... but, the thought was sweet!

Below are various shots of activities around the neighborhood, in no particular order..... just to give you an idea of what the "hood is like!

Chuy had a good time seeing all his childhood friends, and lazing in the hammocks......

What a life!
These guys are the REAL McCOY Divers. They get up early every day, go diving in the nearby ocean, bring fresh oysters, fish, and other seafood in from the sea.... and prepare it right there at their little stand. These guys have been Chuys friends since childhood, and Chuy often would dive with them......when he lived at Jardin Azteca.
Life long buddies.....


This is a slight view of the area that Chuy and his friend Coquis dives at to get the seafood. They climb down a little path to the Ocean to dive....
and climb back up to go prepare the food every day...its how the divers make their living.....

The beginning of the part of the neighborhood that climbs up the mountain to Jardin Azteca..Chuys neighborhood.

This is Pie de la Cuesta...the beach immediately below Chuys house...less than a mile below.....maybe 1/2 mile?

Chuy at his friend 'Martins beach area at Pie de la Cuesta. Another life long friend that owns many 'blocks of the beach front, and has a little restaurant and hammocks, etc. to kick back and enjoy the beach.....
